I am always amazed at how fast the year goes by! As always I feel very emotional when I have to say "good bye" to the children. We have made many memories together. I told them today I am proud of them all. They have grown so much and are ready for the next grade. The children had to promise to drop by my room next year and see me. For those of you moving I wish you all the best in your new school. Thank you all for the tremendous support you have given me and your child throughout the year.
Have a safe and happy summer.

We have a very busy day tomorrow!! Please send an apple to school. Children can also wear orange and black.
Check your child's backpack for individual picture proofs and order forms. All Kindergarten's have a note from the Squamish Public Library.
Our Learning
The letter of the week is Dd - D says d, D says d, Down dragon, Down dragon, d-d-d-
Many children had difficulty articulating this sound. Some also had trouble hearing d- at the beginning of the word often confusing it
with the sound b-. Please practice this sound. I will often talk to the children about what part of their mouth helps them make the sound.
For example your tongue helps you make the d- sound. Your lips help with the b- sound.
The children have been practicing 3 ways to read a book: read the pictures, re- tell the story in your own words and read the text .
We did Pumpkin Science with Mrs.B today using our 5 senses.
I am so pleased to see how well the children are doing with Whole Body Listening.
Math was all about the number 4. Some of the Grade One student's were making addition facts with 4!
Many children have used their 'extra clothes'. Please replace them.

Oct. 28 We had a great day! The children were so happy and enjoyed a variety of Halloween activities. Thank you to Kayden's Mom and Dad. Micah's Mom, Aidan's Mom, Mehar's Dad, Jenaya's Mom and Mrs. Watson a retired Mamquam teacher. They were amazing helpers! Unfortunately, someone took Kayden's pumpkin home by mistake. All children had their name on the bag with their pumpkin. Could you please check that your child took home their pumpkin. Kayden was very sad not to take his pumpkin home. I am asking each child to bring 1 apple to school on Friday. |
